Formerly known as Stowell’s Smash Repairs, 16 Cass Street has had a makeover – rebranding in 2019 to Johnson’s Panel and Paint under new ownership by Bill Johnson and Nina Strijland. We are excited to bring to Ashburton a level of service that hasn’t been seen in the Panel Beating business before.
Our objective is to provide customers with a place for all their vehicle restoration repairs, collision repairs, structural repairs, refinishing and commercial needs. Our difference? Exceptional customer service.
When you bring your vehicle in to us, you deal directly with Bill. Which means no long wait times deciding on a plan for your vehicle’s repair, quicker quotes, job bookings and turnaround. Bill, who has 15 years’ experience working in car restoration & Collision Repairs, and his team pride themselves on being approachable and going the extra mile for their customers (we’ll even drop you off and pick you up!)

Hey, we are Bill & Nina…
Nina is a carer, it’s part of who she is; that’s why before the business opportunity arose, she spent the last ten years lucky enough to be able to stay at home and care for the four children Bill and her share. Even before that, she spent her time caring for animals as a vet nurse, so you can be assured when working with Nina you are going to be cared about and looked after
Bill lives, breathes and even dreams cars. One of his dreams was to have his own business and he is enthralled that this dream has become a reality. After fourteen years of hard work becoming fully qualified through MITO, learning and doing Bill is excited to see more of his dreams come to life as he gets to implement them into Johnson’s Panel and Paint.
Together Bill and Nina will put the level of care and dedication that they have exuded elsewhere into looking after you, so you can experience a level of customer service not seen anywhere else.
